In Sorocaba (SP), the social transformation promoted by the Virando o Jogo project receives a fundamental boost with the support of Alutal. The company, a national leader in industrial measurement solutions, is one of the partners in the initiative that uses citizenship, sport, and professional training to change the reality of young people in the region.
History of the Turning the Game Around project
The Turning the Game Around project was born in 2018 from a group of friends who decided to take action in the face of the difficulties faced by children and adolescents in vulnerable situations. What began as a volunteer effort gained strength and structure: today, Turning the Game Around is a non-profit organization, recognized by the community and by business partners.
Since its founding, the project has raised over R$ 500, an amount entirely reinvested in projects and organizations in the region. The commitment is clear: all funds raised return in the form of opportunities. One of the main sources of funding is the annual feijoada (Brazilian stew) events promoted by the organization, which bring together thousands of people and have become a tradition in the city, mobilizing volunteers and the community.
In 2023, Virando o Jogo consolidated a partnership with Instituto Elevar, expanding its reach and giving rise to two projects that have made a difference: the ETEC Entrance Exam Project and the Taekwondo Project.
The ETEC Entrance Exam Project was born from the observation that many low-income teenagers have difficulty competing in entrance exams and university entrance exams due to a lack of access to quality education. The initiative offers tutoring and academic support, preparing students to secure a place in technical schools.
Sport also plays a fundamental role in this process. The Taekwondo Project, developed in partnership with the Elevar Institute, offers weekly group classes open to students preparing for the ETEC entrance exam and the community. More than just physical exercise, taekwondo is used as a tool for discipline, overcoming challenges, and integration.
Alutal: a company that believes in people.
The success of the "Turning the Game Around" project is a direct result of the engagement of volunteers and partner companies, such as Alutal, which has actively contributed to strengthening social initiatives in Sorocaba.
Alutal emphasizes that its involvement goes beyond financial support: it's about investing in people and believing in the transformative power of education and sport. "The social aspect is part of our corporate identity. Growth only makes sense when it's collective," the company states.
Recognition of this commitment came recently when Alutal received an award from the Virando o Jogo project, in gratitude for its partnership and continued support of initiatives for the inclusion and training of young people.
For the company, acting with social responsibility is part of its integrated, ethical, and transparent management approach. Alutal values relationships based on respect, trust, and commitment to the well-being of the people and communities with which it interacts.
